  • What level of Customer Service should I expect from QUINN-Insurance?
    We provide a fast, efficient and personal service to all our supporting brokers. We are committed to continually improving our service levels, product range and quality through the skill of our workforce.
    • Quotations are just a phone-call away. You may obtain quotations for Property, Liability and Contractors All Risks Insurance within 10 minutes on our 'Quick Quote' line (for claims free risks with premiums up to £10,000). For all other quotations, please forward submission by email, fax or post.
    • 98% of Policy Documents are issued within 48 hours of going on cover.
    • Endorsements to existing Policies are issued within 72 hours of QUINN-Insurance being advised of the change.
    • Selected surveys are completed within 28 days of cover commencing.
    • Approx 75% of our commercial claims are settled within 90 days.
    Whatever contact you have with QUINN-Insurance, you are guaranteed to receive outstanding customer service.
    • We work in partnership with our policyholders to meet their insurance needs.
    • We consult with our policyholders to achieve a fast and efficient claims settlement, which reduces costs resulting in lower premiums.

  • Who will handle my day-to-day queries for quotes, endorsements or renewals?
    All Brokers are assigned a dedicated team of highly trained QUINN-Insurance staff who are available to assist you in maintaining and growing your account. Through comprehensive training, our staff are awarded 'Underwriting Authorities' which enable them to handle all your queries with as little referral as possible. Your dedicated team will assist you with all your day-to-day queries whether you are looking for a new business or renewal quotation or if you wish to make a change to an existing Policy.
  • If I need expert advice or assistance, whom should I ask?
    QUINN-Insurance offers all brokers the assistance of a 'Senior Account Handler' to accompany them on client visits. Whether the purpose of the visit is to seek new business, secure a renewal or handle a claims query, we are only too willing to assist you. Please contact your Regional Sales Manager or one of your dedicated team if you require this assistance.
  • Do QUINN-Insurance have a local representative in our area?
    Regional Sales Managers are available to assist you in the management of your account with QUINN-Insurance. Their aim is to strengthen and develop both existing and new broker relationships. Regardless of the size of your brokerage our Regional Sales Manager will be available to assist you with whatever query you may have.
  • What type of covers can QUINN-Insurance offer our clients?

  • How many days in advance will I be able to send a submission to QUINN-Insurance for quotation?
    Requests for quotations may be forwarded to QUINN-Insurance up to 60 days in advance of renewal date. However, the submission must contain the correct figures for the forthcoming period.

  • Will I receive a quote in every instance?
    For the first 3 months following a broker's appointment, Quinn-Insurance will offer quotations on a First Come/First Served basis. After which, the brokers performance shall be reviewed. Brokers who meet certain performance criteria will continue to enjoy First Come/First Served priority. Such performance criteria may be notified to the broker from time to time.
  • How long are quotations valid for?
    All our quotations are valid for 30 days.
  • How do I request cover on a policy?
    When requesting cover, please advise your account handler by telephone that cover is required. This request must then be followed up in writing and forwarded to your account handler by fax or e-mail.
  • Do you have an excess on all your policies?
    Yes, all our policies carry an excess. We are open to discuss various excess options on all quotations. This partnership approach provides discounted premiums for policyholders. In addition, we will pay up to 50% of the excess on liability policies (up to a maximum of £4,000) to policyholders who help us avoid legal costs.
  • Who do I contact if I have a question?
    Depending on your query, you may contact one of your dedicated Account Handlers or alternatively, your Regional Sales Manager. A contact list detailing your dedicated team will be forwarded to you upon your appointment as a QUINN-Insurance intermediary.
  • What payment facilities are available to pay the policyholder's premium?
    We offer the following payment facilities:

    3) Direct Debit

    For New Business:
    Direct Debit facilities for new business policyholders require a 20% deposit followed by 10 monthly instalments. A service charge exists for Direct Debit and is based on the amount of the Premium.

    For Renewals:
    If a policy is renewed, any existing Direct Debit facility automatically switches to a 12 monthly payment plan.

  • Do QUINN-Insurance carry out Surveys/Risk Assessments?
    QUINN-Insurance may randomly select policies for survey or risk assessment. In addition, some policies may be subject to survey or risk assessment depending on their size and nature of risk.
  • How do I renew a policy?
    If applicable, the policyholder should complete Declaration and Projection forms. An auditor or an accountant should sign the declaration form if the turnover is in excess of £1,500,000.

    If QUINN-Insurance have carried out a survey during the year, all survey requirements must be completed.

    Your dedicated Renewals Account Handler will contact you to negotiate renewal terms.

    Please confirm renewal instructions, prior to expiry of the policy, in writing or by telephone to your dedicated Renewals Account Handler. If confirmation has been provided by telephone, please follow up in writing by fax or e-mail.

    If QUINN-Insurance do not receive instructions to renew prior to expiry of the policy, the policy will automatically be lapsed. We do not encourage extensions of cover. All extensions of cover must be agreed with QUINN-Insurance prior to renewal date and will be charged based on previous years rates.
  • Can a policy be transferred to another broker?
    We ask that any 'Transfer of Agency' be notified to QUINN-Insurance in writing at least one month prior to renewal date. Notification of the 'Transfer of Agency' should be in letter format from the Policyholder to Quinn-Insurance. This letter must clearly state that the relevant policy, identified by policy number, be transferred from Broker A to Broker B.
  • Do you have a procedure for mid-term changes/adjustments to policies?
    Requests for mid-term changes to Policies may be advised by telephone, email, fax or by letter. Requests received by telephone should be followed up in writing to your account handler. Cover cannot be backdated.
  • Do QUINN-Insurance allow sub-broking?
    No, this intermediary appointment would not allow you to sub-broke.
  • Who are QUINN-Insurance regulated by?
    QUINN-Insurance are authorised by the Financial Regulator and regulated by the Financial Services Authority for the conduct of UK business (REF Np 202942).

    All UK policyholders are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
  • Do QUINN-Insurance have a credit rating?
    Moody's Investors Service have assigned a Baa2 Insurance Financial Strength Rating (IFSR) to QUINN-Insurance Limited.
  • What is QUINN-Insurance's approach to Claims Handling?
    QUINN-Insurance works in partnership with the policyholder and broker with a joint aim of reducing both the number and cost of claims. Policyholders and brokers are encouraged to take a pro-active approach to the resolution of claims and to work with us from the very first notification.

    A Regional Claims Manager is instructed within 2 hours of the initial notification and they will work closely with the Managing Director, owner or designated person within the company to settle the claim as early and efficiently as possible. QUINN-Insurance employs over 160 Regional Claims Managers throughout England, Scotland and Wales who have the expertise required to achieve full settlement of the claim to the benefit of both the commercial policyholder and QUINN-Insurance.

    We will pay up to 50% of the excess (up to a maximum of £4000 on Public, Products and Employers Liability claims) if the policyholder has assisted in a quick and effective settlement avoiding unnecessary fees and costs.
  • Do I have to report every incident or claim?
    All claims and incidents that may give rise to a claim now or in the future, must be reported to QUINN-Insurance immediately or as soon as practically possible.
  • How do I/policyholder report a claim or incident?
    Incidents that may give rise to a claim must be reported to QUINN-Insurance immediately on Lo-Call 0845 3511210.

  • What information will I need to provide in the event of an incident or claim?
    Please ensure you have full details of the claim including: policy number, policyholder name and contact details, date and location of incident, circumstances surrounding the incident and third party details if applicable.
  • What happens after I have reported an incident or claim?
    A Regional Claims Manager is appointed on all claims received and if further investigation is required will make contact with the policyholder. If applicable, an Incident Report Form will be forwarded to you for the policy holder to complete. Your Regional Sales Manager is also notified and kept up to date on the progress of your claim.
  • When do I need to pay the excess on a claim?
    Once QUINN-Insurance has made a payment the excess will immediately become due from the Insured.

    Please note that QUINN - Insurance will pay up to 50% of the excess on a Public/Product and an Employers Liability claim (to a maximum of £4,000) where the insured has fully assisted in avoiding legal costs.
  • When do I have to pay my account?
    Premiums must be paid to QUINN-Insurance by the 25th of the following month of going on cover.
